SOS DOCTORS is the first Greek organization of freelance medical specialists dedicated in providing home medical services in emergencies 24/7.
It was founded in 1993 and it currently collaborates with 120 physicians of all key specialties: cardiologists, internists, pulmonologists, surgeons, pediatricians, orthopedic doctors, psychiatrists, neurologists, gastroenterologists, urologists, pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, ENT doctors, gynecologists and endocrinologists.
SOS DOCTORS is an exclusively self-funded and financially independent company, maintained by retaining a percentage of the doctors’ payment for every medical visit.
Our philosophy is that it is the obligation of every SOS doctor to be immediately at the patient’s side, any time any day.
For this reason, SOS DOCTORS do not work like an insurance company, i.e. with memberships or subscriptions. SOS DOCTORS are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (including public holidays) to reach every patient immediately (within 45 minutes) at their own home, with a simple call at +302108212222.
SOS DOCTORS believe that emergencies require urgent medical services or medical home care, but not necessarily hospitalization. Visiting patients in the warmth and comfort of their own home, which can be a source of vital information about their health, is a European tradition in the way of practicing medicine. Moreover, medical visits at home are a much more economical solution.
