Dr. Ioannis Papanagiotou is a Gynecologist and Breast Surgeon, a graduate of the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He was recently elected and is expected to be sworn in as an Assistant Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

In 2016, he was awarded a PhD from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with the distinction “Excellent.”

He holds three Master of Science (MSc) degrees in “Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotic Surgery and Telesurgery,” “Pathology of Pregnancy,” and “Breast Diseases.”

During his subspecialty training, he was trained in Endoscopic and Robotic Breast Surgery at the Oncological Institute Candiolo, IRCCS, Turin, Italy. He is currently the only physician in Greece with a Fellowship certification in Endoscopic and Robotic Breast Surgery. In May 2025, he successfully performed the first Robotic Mastectomy in Greece.

He has served as a Scientific Associate at the Breast Unit of the 1st University Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at “Alexandra” General Hospital of Athens.

His scientific work includes more than 80 published articles in internationally recognized scientific journals and over 120 presentations at international and national conferences.
