Dr. George Skepastianos is a highly skilled plastic and reconstructive surgeon practicing at UKSKIN’s Birmingham and London clinics. With extensive experience in skin lesion removal and reconstructive skin procedures, he specialises in the excision of benign and malignant skin lesions, scar revision, and advanced repair techniques to restore both function and aesthetics.
Dr. Skepastianos earned his medical degree from Comenius University in Bratislava and holds a master’s degree in medical research methodology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a PhD candidate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a certified plastic surgeon accredited by the Hellenic Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (HESPRAS), as well as a registered practitioner with the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC).
His extensive training includes specialisation in plastic and reconstructive surgery at leading hospitals in the UK and Greece, including Southmead Hospital (North Bristol NHS Foundation Trust) and Wythenshawe Hospital (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust). He has also completed prestigious fellowships in microsurgery at Queen Victoria Hospital in the UK and in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery at UZ Brussels in Belgium under Professor Moustapha Hamdi.
Prior to joining UKSKIN, Dr. Skepastianos worked as a consultant in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction, facial nerve palsy repair, and melanoma treatment.
A committed researcher and educator, Dr. Skepastianos has presented at international plastic surgery conferences such as ISAPS World Congress and EURAPS. He has also been recognised for his contributions to the field, receiving the Hellenic Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Award for Best Scientific and Experimental Work.
