Having been a professional athlete (as a goalkeeper he served for significant teams such as Apollon Athinon, Aharnaikos and Ilisiakos), orthopedic surgeon Konstantinos Intzoglou knows best how important proper and immediate treatment is for the quality of life of people with high functional expectations.

Dr. Intzoglou currently works as an Orthopedic Surgeon and is the Director of the MINISCO Orthopedic Center, which provides orthopedic services of high standards, tailored to the profile and the requirements of each patient.

At MINISCO Orthopedic Center, every modern method of conservative treatment (strengthening, physiotherapy, intraarticular PRP injections, stem cells, etc.) is used before the patient is offered surgical treatment. Especially in cases of knee and hip osteoarthritis, modern minimal invasive techniques (MIS) are applied. Dr. Intzoglou works as a Director of Orthopaedics at METROPOLITAN GENERAL, one of the largest health care facilities in Greece, always at the forefront of all technological advancements.

He is specialized in arthroscopy of all the large joints (knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, elbow) and he ensures the quick and safe return of the athlete to the field (fast track rehab). For the arthritic hip he uses the SUPERPATH technique; for the arthritic knee he uses MIS techniques and ROBOTIC-ASSISTED surgery if necessary.

In 2011 he won the Greek Arthroscopic Society Award for Best Research. In 2017 he was the only European fellow of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA). During his scholarship, he studied at the largest Hospitals in Europe (Switzerland, Luxembourg, etc.). His areas of expertise are: anterior cruciate ligament rupture, meniscus, shoulder dislocation. Also he is focused in osteoarthritis and total hip and knee arthroplasty, operations where he can use ROBOTIC assistance if necessary for the patient.

Especially for hip arthroplasty, he applies the cutting-edge technique SUPERPATH, an innovative exposure for the hip osteoarthritis firstly established in the USA. The SUPERPATH arthroplasty promises immediate relief and walking to patients with hip arthritis without the need for blood transfusion or crutches. As far as Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction is concerned, he was the first in Greece to harvest patella tendon via a minimal incision Dr. Intzoglou applies an Individualized protocol for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction making sure that every patient of his receives the surgery and care he needs.
