Alexandra Mastrogiannaki – Marini was born in Thymiana of Chios, but now lives and works in Kyparissia, seat of the mu- nicipality of Trifylia. She studied medicine at the University of Athens. She served as a rural doctor in Pyrgi of Chios and then worked for 1.5 years in the hospital of Chios. Got specialty in Microbiology – Biopathology (Hematology-Biochemistry-Microbiology-Immunology) in Agia Sophia, Children’s Hospital in Athens with the internationally recognized Professor of Microbiology, Antigone Arseni. Since she was an intern she participated in the research work of the Laboratory of the hospital. She was particularly involved with the Haematology (leukemia, Hemoglobin) under the supervision of the late Aris Karaklis, then Director of Laboratory Hematology and Blood in Children’s Hospital Agia Sophia. During her specialty she prepared the following work: “Staining Eyelashes in Pseudomonas” and “Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, as a cause of sepsis in newborns” (A. Mastrogiannaki, E. Malamou, A. Arseni) which was presented at the National Medical Congress in Athens, in 1985. She participated in the research paper “The mycoplasma as cause of sterility in men” carried out under the supervision of Mrs. Giamarellou, Infectious Disease physician, Professor of Pathology, University of Athens.

She has published 11 works and has participated in numerous conferences.

Since 1985, as medical microbiologist – Biopathologist offers her services in the prefecture of Messinia and particularly in the province of Trifylia. Participates actively in conferences and seminars and cooperates with the headquarters of Mi- crobiology of the University of Athens – Whonet program – on the strength of community antibiotic. At the same time, she is attending the courses organized by the Society for Microbiology.

Today, she has a fully equipped laboratory in Kiparissia with modern machinery and specialized biopathologists, biologist, chemist, para-medical staff, nurses, secretaries and communication manager.
