Pothoulakis Ioannis
General Surgeon
Graduated from the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1983 after passing entrance exams.
Specialization in General Surgery at the 3rd University Clinic of the AHEPA Hospital.
Part of his specialty was acquired at the surgical clinic of the Boston University Hospital, having the opportunity to train alongside professors D. Burkit, a pioneer in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in the state of Massachusetts, as well as with professor H. Ellis, Director of the Department of Oncological Surgery.
After receiving his specialty title in 1993 as a fellow of the International Gastrosurgical Club, he retrained in Oncological Surgery of the digestive system.
From 1995 to 2001 he was the Director of the Surgery Clinic of the “ATHENION” hospital.
From 2002 until today he is the Director of the Surgical Clinic and the Scientific Director of the Surgical Department at the Psychiko Clinic of the Athens Medical Group.
During his many years (more than 30) of occupation as a Specialist Surgeon, he has performed thousands of Open and Laparoscopic Surgery operations. A large number of them concern heavy Oncological operations of the Digestive System.
